A late 18th century Italian travelogue, translated into French from the original English by Francois Soules, who also translated Young's 'Voyages in France'. Young was a writer on the subjects of agriculture, economics, social statistics, and an activist for farm workers' rights. His social and political writings were also well-respected, and included accounts of journeys in England, Wales, Ireland, France, and Italy, and a political pamphlet on the American Revolution entitled On the War in North America which was published when he was just seventeen.
